We currently have three classes open for the Spring Semester! If neither of those times or levels work for you, we invite you to fill out this simple online form, specifying preferred days and times for classes. Collecting this information enables us to create cohesive groups based on participants' availability.
The interest form will inquire about your chess proficiency. Provided below are descriptions of the various levels:
Beginner 1: new to chess Beginner 2: knows legal moves and how to check Advanced Beginner: knows how all pieces move and capture, check, and checkmate Intermediate 1: knows how to checkmate the King a) with 1 rook; b) with 2 rooks; c) with Queen; knows all the chess rules including rule of the castle; en passant; pawn promotion Intermediate 2: has played in unrated tournaments/just begun playing in rated tournaments Advanced/Rated: has played in rated tournaments ***Interested students with an official USCF rating at or above 1200 should register for our Master Classes, taught by GM Alexander Stripunsky and GM Irina Levitina***.
